Meet our teachers
Rasha Mekky - Director and Head Teacher
Hello! I am Rasha, the founder of Little Pharaohs. I have been working with children in San Francisco for the past 28 years. I moved to the Bay Area after finishing college in my home country of Egypt. Ever since I was a child, I loved working with children.
I hold a Bachelors degree in Tourism and Hotel Management, but working with children is my true passion. When I moved to the Bay Area, I started working as a nanny and enrolled in early childhood education classes at San Francisco City College. In 1997 I got licensed for my family child care and I have been directing my family child care, Little Pharaohs, for the past 22 years.
I hold 32 units in Early Childhood Education and also earned several certificates from San Francisco City College, including a Certificate in Administration in Early Childhood and a Certificate in Infant and Toddler Environments. I have also completed the training from PITC (The Program for Infant/Toddler Care developed by the California Department of Education and WestEd).
I love working with infants and toddlers and am excited to also be expanding my work with preschool-aged children.
